Arts Council England - RFO funding 2008 On 14 December Arts Council England’s (ACE) 990 Regularly Funded Organisations (RFOs) received notice of its proposals for their funding beyond 31 March 2008. For 75 percent the news was good, with ACE proposing that they would receive an increase in funding of at least inflation (2.7 percent), 211 of whom could expect increases above this. For 194 organisations, however, the picture was bleak, with ACE informing them of the intention to either cut or withdraw funding from April 2008. Respecting ACE’s authority to make such decisions, the NCA added its voice to the outcry over the timing of the announcements and the unfeasibly short period it has left those negatively affected by the decision to find alternative sources of funding to ensure their survival. The NCA wrote a number of letters to ACE expressing its members' concerns and requesting clarity on the decision-making and administrative process, and the likely impact of the response process through with those organisations could submit a written statement to ACE. It consulted with members and the wider sector to inform its actions.
