Arts Manifesto 2005

The NCA launched its Arts Manifesto on 26 January 2005, after a long period of consultation with members. The Manifesto lays out key recommendations to improve the position of the arts in Britain. The NCA encouraged members and interested parties to write to MPs and local candidates in the run up to the election.

Labour used 70% of the Manifesto's recommendations in their own manifesto and the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats accepted its major points. For more information about the political parties and their arts policies, click here.

The Arts Manifesto has been made available to everyone. However, the NCA is dependent on its members to make such projects as the Arts Manifesto happen. For information about membership, click here.
