Initial teacher training In 2003, the NCA took a delegation to the Teacher Training Agency (TTA) to discuss the arts in initial teacher training. The NCA believes that the arts are an essential part of the education of every person in Britain today. In order to fully appreciate the arts, young people need to be taught by experienced and confident teachers. Arts practice is valued in its own right for the rich diversity of cultural and creative opportunities that it brings to young people. The NCA delegation explored the possibility of the TTA supporting a range of training models incorporating and celebrating the benefits of the arts in teaching.
