Past events 2008 18 June - Reception in honour of the NCA at No. 10 Downing Street The Prime Minister and Mrs Brown hosted a reception at No.10 Downing Street ‘in honour of the National Campaign for the Arts’ on Wednesday, 18 June. This was an opportunity for the NCA to pay tribute to those who work in the arts and to patrons and supporters of the arts. Renowned artists, musicians and actors mingled with architects, industry leaders and patrons and benefactors. The Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP, Secretary of State and Rt Hon Margaret Hodge MBE MP, Minister for Culture, also attended. Photographs from the evening can be found here.
31 March - NCA Advocacy Seminar The NCA was delighted by the turn out for the advocacy seminar on 31 March. This seminar was an opportunity for members to talk directly with the NCA about some of the key issues effecting them. The NCA would like to thank Tate Modern for hosting the event. Feedback from the event suggests that those who attended found the afternoon a useful one and that there is a demand for more, focussed, events of this kind. A note of the meeting is available here.
27 March - Visas Seminar It was great to see so many NCA members at the visa seminar at Bates, Wells & Braithwaite (BWB) on 27 March 2008. The seminar gave those attending the opportunity to hear from and put their questions directly to the Home Office. The NCA would like to thank BWB for their kind hospitality in hosting this event; our thanks to the speakers and all those who attended. Members who were not able to attend can find more information on the ongoing visas campaign here.
