Press Release - 5 May 2006

NCA Director, Victoria Todd, moves on - messages from Director and Chair

Message from Victoria Todd, Director of the NCA:

After nearly eight years as director of the National Campaign for the Arts, I am moving to a new position as managing director of One to One Children's Fund. Arts professionals and politicians with whom I have worked will know what a hard decision it is for me to leave such a wonderful organisation. Although there is never a 'right' time to leave, the NCA is in a strong position to look to the future. Following many years of hard work and tireless campaigning, it has a high profile, a fantastic team and a new committed board. I would like to thank all of those, too many to contemplate naming, whose passionate dedication has brought the NCA to such a position of strength, and given the arts world such a powerful voice. I am sure you will continue to lend your support to the NCA as both it and I look forward to the fresh challenges ahead.

Message from Joan Bakewell: Chair of the NCA:

We are all sad to learn that Victoria Todd is moving on. Victoria is leaving a rich and strong legacy: she has turned the NCA into the vibrant, passionate and effective voice for the arts which it now is. The Board thanks her for her commitment and wishes her well for the future. We and the staff aim to build on the NCA's fine reputation, to sustain, and even extend the scope of our commitment and our standing in the world of the arts. I hope you too will come along with us in this resolve.
